Great service, unfortunately with an emergency landing ...
Flight CGN-TFS super, two passengers were booked on the same spot, funny and friendly staff responded to relax the situation. In general, very attentive and kind, really like to do their job. Even the pilot was "jut druff" and has well explained the itinerary.
In Tenerife then shortly before touchdown a Go-Around (Durchstartemanoever) due to a strong tailwind. Was funny, I had a panic, but it is ultimately a Standardmanoever carrying what all pilots to passenger safety.
Then the return flight ...
Should start in Tenerife Clock 19:35, boarding was also on time, machine rolled to the start, engines running, we took off about ... 50 m above the ground, it banged loudly 4 times, from the right engine hit a short flame. I thought of a bird strike and then to nothing at all except for my fear. The aircraft no longer flies, and no one even said a word. The flight attendants looked at each other quizzically, my fear is greater because the pilots are always one degree more turned to the right. Beneath us the water.
Then the announcement of the 1st Officer from the cockpit with a calm voice, there has been a so-called engine-stall, a Stroemungsabriss in the engine. So the engine was turned off. They wanted to launch an emergency landing and fly back to South Tenerife. The pilot turned on the open sea and the airport, which could be seen in the distance, standing up on the red fire truck to give us virtually escorted to the landing. I had, though in retrospect it was nothing life-threatening, fear of death.
The machine came in to land and had to land according to (monitor) nor a good 330 km / h on it. Commonly are about 259-280 km / h. Hard landing, roll out until the end of the runway.
Relaxation.
Then we had to get out and pick up our suitcases. Info: Engine will be repaired. Second info: new engine comes from Germany> - that is loading. After 3 hours, without further information (but there was for each person 3 consumption voucher worth € 8, ie for each 24 €, which was more than adequate), then new info: Leermaschine with stand-by crew comes from Hanover the next morning and picks us off. Thus, we were re-checked. Then we were given a hotel in the capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife provided, which, however, represented to me as inappropriate, as it was already about 23:30 clock. Transfer to Santa Cruz, 1 hours, check-in at the hotel, a short sleep, the bus was already at 4 clock again leave the hotel.
I spent the night at the airport.
The next morning, the machine arrived on time, but was 1 hours at the gate without something moving. Then start, experienced, already slightly older crew (psychological aspect: they had probably thought of the terrified passengers) who routinely traveled with her job and plenty of rest.
The crew flew back to the previous day, but in civil and some flight attendants came around and asked (uA even me) if we had calmed down again and whether they could still do something or explain, etc. That's what I call customer oriented work .
When starting a deathly silence in the air ... then it was probably the longest 4 1 / 2 hours of my life. Landed in Cologne, was a great burden from me and I was overjoyed when I was close to the trunk output my family's arms.
All in all, an experience that only by leaving a slightly bitter aftertaste to me that it (the complaint at its first response TUIFly two drinks vouchers for the next flight!) And was - after I visited my lawyer and he again mounted a letter had - I would then 5 and the fare was reimbursed - 16,80 € - which I declined because I felt it as an impertinence. Finally, I arrived 12 hours late in Germany.
Nevertheless TUIFly was a very welcome change in terms of service, friendliness and customer orientation. The flight attendants made the entire flight over the impression that they make the work fun. Drinks were on both flights about 5-6 times and also a request for pillow cover was immediately complied. An attentive crew, when I felt safe myself - something better can happen in a non-plane.
So, SO NEXT!
